Following are some pictures of carnivorous plants my good friend John Humberto Madrid took some years ago at "Parque Nacional Natural el Tuparro".
This park is a protected area located at the sides of the Orinoco river at the borders between Colombia and Venezuela and it has grassland and gallery forest habitats.
The pictures are not of very good quality because the originals are slides and I have no access to a slide scanner, then I had to proyect the slides in a wall and take pictures with my digital camera. Anyway, I publish these pictures because I think they are very interesting as these species have not been reported in Colombia before:
First is a plant of Drosera sessilifolia growing among some plants of Utricularia and Genlisea.
Next is a picture of Drosera sessilifolia in company of Utricularia oliveriana.
And finally a blooming plant of Genlisea sanariapoana, a spectacular species of Genlisea with big flowers and traps which, until now has been reported only from Venezuela.
Thanks to mi friends, John Humberto Madrid for sharing his pictures and Fernando Rivadavia for his help in identifying the plants in these pictures.
